Returning with the same line up after the triumphant release that was Hammer of The Witches, Cradle of Filth announced their brand new record Cryptoriana : The Seductiveness of Decay. Taking some time out of his busy schedule, Mr Filth himself allowed me to pick his brain about all sorts revolving not just about the new record!
Set to release their brand new album on September 22nd via Nuclear Blast, Cryptoriana takes a dark walk into the world of Victoriana. Born from Dani’s affinity to the subject, his love of Victorian Horror shines through as a loose concept. Creating eight tracks in what could be seen as their most collaborative effort to date, its a testament to the power of Cradle of Filth and their rejuvenation. Enlisting new members in Hammer of The Witches, the collaborative spirit in the band has never sounded so ostentatious.
Hinting an element of Progressive nature, Cryptoriana merely builds on these rock solid foundations the band have laid out. Gutting the instrumental section in favour for even more grandiose tracks to inhabit the record, each song resonates with the listener beautifully, telling its own dark, morbid tale in just the appropriate amount of time. Cryptoriana is a band already building on what was an absolute tour de force of a record, with an even better one.
