What's new?

A solid Death Metal band, Abysmal Dawn have been slowly putting out quality Metal and have now begun a new journey under the guise of Season of Mist.

Having finished up their deal with Relapse Records, after their final record Osolescence was released, Abysmal Dawn have announced that they will be carrying on their sonic journey with Season of Mist. Returning to the kind of people that the band have worked with previous, SOM’s US label manager Gordon Conrad, was responsible for signing the band first off.

It will be interesting to see how Abysmal Dawn might have some more opportunities, following their signing. Somewhat more suited to the label, Season of Mist has become a powerhouse in Technical Death Metal. Signings the likes of Archspire, Beyond Creation, Gorguts, Hate Eternal, Wormed etc…

“We’re very happy to be signed to such an awesome and respected label like Season Of Mist. The people there are all die-hard metalheads and we’re glad to be a part of such an enthusiastic and strong team. We also have a long standing friendship with US label manager Gordon Conrad, who originally signed us. Working with Gordon, Michael, and the other amazing people at the label was just a no-brainer. We’re very excited about the future of Abysmal Dawn these days, and judging by the new material that we’ve been working on, some great things are to come soon enough.”

It would also mean that the band will be no doubt getting some new material together. I would imagine that the band might get some studio time when things are quiet over the winter to come back with full force next year. More details as I hear about them!
