It seems that Morbid Angel will be releasing their brand new record just in time for Christmas. After the absolute disaster that was Illud Divinum Insanus, Morbid Angel’s future was somewhat in tatters. Following the recent line up changes with Dave Vincent now out of the band, Steve Tucker and Trey Azagthoth and drummer Scotty Fuller are leading the charge.
Announcing that their brand new Kingdoms Disdained will be arriving just before the year’s end on December 1st, the record promises to be one of their heaviest yet. Taking a leaf from the Sumerian’s the inspiration behind the lyrical content for the record comes from the idea of total destruction that Sumerian’s thrived upon. Recorded at the esteemed Mana Studios by the one and only Erik Rutan, you can bet that the record will be sounding absolutely top quality and not to mention that Rutan’s contributions as a producer will probably be something that will help the band to the nth degree.
Made up of eleven tracks, the record will be an interesting listen indeed following Vincent’s decision to exit. Created by Ken Coleman, the albums artwork shows what looks almost like a titan crushing the world. Suitably brutal and fits perfectly with the albums thematic properties.
