This is Alaska-era goodness guys.
Announcing their brand new double album Automata I, today the band share their first single from the first part of this double album in the form of “Condemned To The Gallows” and its absolutely brilliant.
Starting with a beautiful, acoustic guitar, the song is easily the heaviest the band have sounded in a while and brings with it an idea that Automata might be sounding closer to the likes of Alaska and Colors all the while having a hardened edge at the same time. Its a lot to dissect in the first listen but personally, I absolutely loved the inclusion of the classic Waggoner leads in the track alongside Tommy’s harsher vocal style, it reminded me of just why I fell in love with the band so much.
I don’t think I’m alone in saying that we are all spoilt being given two albums in the one year by Between The Buried and Me as well. This is also probably the biggest concept that the band have brought to the table I would imagine as its the first time the group have put together a double album.
Enough of my nattering, listen to the brand new song right here, right now.
