What's new?

And no, I don’t think it sounds like Nightwish.

Announcing their brand new album Eonian recently, the band have at long last made the first single off the highly anticipated new record available for our listening pleasure and the YouTube gremlins are already complaining about it.

Unveiling their first single “Interdimensional Summit” might be just as maddeningly titled as you would come to expect from a band the likes of Dimmu Borgir but it certainly does live up to the hype. Perhaps not the most dark or evil offering the band have ever put forward, nevertheless, personally I absolutely loved the guitar work that has been put across and the soaring choruses really struck a chord (no pun intended).

However of course the internet hive mind, labelled it boring, sounding like Nightwish and that the guitars were mixed too low. Really, there is nothing to please the comments section… Listen to the track yourself and see what you think, personally it brings to mind the grandiose theatrics of the likes of In Sorte Diaboli, the cut throat riffing of Entrhone Darkness Triumphant and the more symphonic elements of Death Cult Armageddon, as you might be able to tell, I for one, am stoked. Not to mention some of the vinyl variants that Nuclear Blast have put together look absolute brilliant!
