Arguably the biggest the band have ever been, Carnifex are the true flagbearers of the Deathcore subgenre. Now perhaps being bigger than it ever was the genre has weathered the social storm to become an accepted genre (at last!). However, its not been the easiest for the band, no doubt fans will have seen the controversial ad campaign for Virgin Trains that featured Carnifex’s own “Answers In Mourning” track comparing it to a flat tire, traffic and getting arrested, it caused quite the stir in the Carnifex camp.
Coming through on their Chaos and Carnage tour in London, I was very lucky to be able to have a quick chat with Scott Lewis about the infamous, Virgin Trains incident along with discussing new album details and the true resurgence of Deathcore. Check the video interview below to see just what Scott had to say, thank you so much for taking the time to chat!
Carnifex’s brutal Slow Death is out now and the band are currently touring Europe, go get tickets!
