What's new?

Currently on tour in Europe, I sat down with Allegaeon’s absolute gent that is Greg Burgess talking about their brand new, forthcoming album and their first ever visit to the UK.

For those of you who might not be aware, Allegaeon are arguably one of the most technically proficient bands going. Blending Melodic Death Metal, Science, symphonies and a touch of Rush, Proponent of Sentience, their 2016 release  was quite rightly atop many people’s end of year lists. Following the addition of new bassist Brandon Michael, alongside the second recording to feature singer Riley McShane and the band intend to make full use of the singer’s vocal ability.

Teaming up with Ne Obliviscaris, the band are currently wowing fans in Europe with their sentient technical death metal, yet I was very lucky to be able to speak to guitar wizard and total dude Greg Burgess, who ensures us that Allegaeon’s fifth album is sure to be their most ambitious to date and the band will hit the studio in June.
